An out of the ordinary holiday experience in the Catalan heartland

A newly reformed, stand alone, very self-contained lodge with all the modern amenities. It sits proudly on the verge of private, evergreen woods in the corner of the owner's estate.

You have carefully thought out trails and hikes, leading through the countryside of the estate and then high up into the mountains of the Serra Cardo' expanse. Enjoy remote peace and seclusion to view nature from the balcony and horses in the paddock - or to pen your next novel.

Relax and enjoy satellite English television. Only one set of easy steps to this level, that opens out onto the balcony through French doors (not suitable for children).

The friendly owners from Surrey favour environmental awareness with solar and wind power to conserve energy, thus Tricia will provide a laundry service for guests in the cottage for a small fee. The cottage is heated and ideal for all seasons, but please no smoking indoors.

Horse Riding

Robin and Tricia currently have two beautiful, exercised and well-schooled Spanish horses to ride; a gorgeous dapple grey Andalusian, "Carremelo" ( 'melo') or an equally striking proud, chestnut, Raguespañol, "Furier" ('FriFri') Maybe you have ridden before, or feeling a little rusty or nervous because you haven´t ever, do not worry. Robin is so charming and patient, an expert horseman in every aspect. He will not let you "loose" without a full and proper assessment to your skill levels. He will even accompany you on your ride and show you the different trails until you feel more confidant. The beauty of all this is, it costs you 20 euros and when you are out on the trails, you "are out - no clock ticking." All Robin asks is that you show care to yourself, your horse and respect the environment. Above all, "...to just please enjoy yourself, sharpen your observation skills, unwind and de-stress and open your eyes wider to take in the flora and fauna and panoramic scenery and absorb the scents of the countryside" .

Have you never tried it? Don´t knock it! You will find this a sport easily learned under expert, experienced and safe guidance. This is not just an activity for the Royal set ( or those aspiring to it). Teenagers bored, male or female have been catapulted out of their holiday boredom and lethargy They have been totally captivated and have hung onto every word of Robin's. It gives him so much pleasure to see the expressions change into keenness and then the amazed and satisfied look on their young faces as they accomplish a new skill. "Mum, Dad, can I have another go tomorrow? Please.") This a sport that ladies, as well as men learn to love. How much better can it get than to share sporting interests on holidays for only 30 euros each to cover your 'shots'? At least, this way you are not diminishing the bird life that is so prevalent in the Burga Valley!
